General Questions
What does Leadhui PCB do?
Leadhui PCB provides PCB fabrication, PCB assembly, component sourcing, and related engineering support for prototypes, low-volume production, and batch manufacturing. We support customers from design validation to production-ready builds.
What types of PCBs can you manufacture?
We can support a wide range of PCB types, including rigid PCBs, multilayer PCBs, aluminum PCBs, flexible PCBs, rigid-flex PCBs, HDI PCBs, high-frequency PCBs, and heavy copper PCBs, depending on your design requirements.
Do you support both prototype and mass production orders?
Yes. We support prototype builds, engineering samples, low-volume production, and volume manufacturing. You can start with a small trial order before moving to larger production quantities.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
For PCB fabrication, we can usually support small prototype quantities. For PCB assembly, MOQ depends on component availability, assembly process, and project complexity. Please send your files for review and quotation.
Quotation & Ordering
How can I get a quote?
You can request a quote by uploading your PCB files and project requirements through our website or by sending them to our sales team. For accurate pricing, please include Gerber files, board specifications, quantity, and any special requirements.
What information is needed for a PCB quote?
For PCB fabrication, we usually need Gerber files, drill files, board size, layer count, material, thickness, copper weight, solder mask color, surface finish, quantity, and lead time requirements.
What information is needed for a PCB assembly quote?
For PCB assembly, please provide Gerber files, BOM, pick-and-place/CPL file, assembly drawing if available, quantity, and any testing or programming requirements.
Can I request a quote before placing an order?
Yes. We can review your files and provide a quotation before you place an order. If our engineers find any manufacturing concerns, we will contact you for confirmation.
Can I reorder a previous PCB or PCBA project?
Yes. If your previous design files and specifications remain unchanged, reordering is usually faster. Please provide your previous order number or project reference so we can check the production history.
File Requirements
What PCB file formats do you accept?
Gerber RS-274X is preferred. We may also review ODB++, IPC-2581, or native design files depending on the project. Drill files, stackup notes, and fabrication drawings are recommended for more complex boards.
What is a BOM?
A BOM, or Bill of Materials, lists all components required for PCB assembly. A complete BOM should include reference designators, manufacturer part numbers, quantities, descriptions, package types, and any approved alternatives.
What is a CPL or pick-and-place file?
A CPL file provides component placement data for assembly. It usually includes reference designator, X/Y coordinates, rotation, and board side. This file helps ensure accurate SMT placement.
Can you panelize my PCB?
Yes. We can help panelize your PCB for fabrication or assembly. If panelization affects tooling, breakaway rails, V-cut, tabs, or fiducials, our engineering team will confirm the details before production.
Can I change my files after placing an order?
If production has not started, file changes may be possible. Once the order is confirmed for production, changes may cause delays or additional costs due to material preparation or scrapped work-in-progress.
PCB Manufacturing
Do you offer controlled impedance PCBs?
Yes, we can support controlled impedance requirements. Please provide impedance values, trace width/spacing requirements, stackup information, and reference layers. Our engineering team will review manufacturability before production.
Can you manufacture HDI or microvia PCBs?
Yes, HDI designs can be reviewed and manufactured based on layer structure, microvia type, material, and lamination requirements. Please send complete design files for engineering evaluation.
What surface finishes do you offer?
Common surface finishes may include HASL, lead-free HASL, ENIG, immersion silver, immersion tin, OSP, and hard gold. Available options depend on the PCB type and application requirements.
Do you support RoHS-compliant PCBs?
Yes, RoHS-compliant materials and lead-free surface finishes are available. If your project has special environmental or compliance requirements, please specify them when requesting a quote.
PCB Assembly
Do you provide turnkey PCB assembly?
Yes. For turnkey PCB assembly, Leadhui PCB can manage PCB fabrication, component sourcing, SMT assembly, through-hole assembly, inspection, and testing under one project workflow.
Can I supply my own components?
Yes. We can support consigned, partial turnkey, or full turnkey assembly. For consigned parts, please provide a clear packing list and label components with BOM line numbers or manufacturer part numbers.
Do you assemble BGA, QFN, and fine-pitch components?
Yes, we can assemble BGA, QFN, fine-pitch ICs, and other complex components. For these packages, we recommend providing accurate footprints, solder paste layer data, and inspection requirements.
Can you program ICs or firmware?
Yes, programming can be supported if you provide the firmware files, programming tools or instructions, and verification procedures. Please confirm programming requirements before production.
Do you provide functional testing?
Yes. Functional testing can be arranged according to your test procedure. If a custom test fixture or test program is required, our team can review the requirements and quote separately.
Lead Time
How long does PCB production take?
Lead time depends on board complexity, layer count, material availability, surface finish, quantity, and testing requirements. Standard PCBs are usually faster, while HDI, rigid-flex, high-frequency, or special-material boards may require more time.
How long does PCB assembly take?
PCBA lead time depends on PCB fabrication time, component sourcing, SMT/THT assembly, inspection, and testing. Long-lead components or incomplete files may extend the schedule.
When does lead time start?
Lead time usually starts after payment, file review, engineering confirmation, and material availability are completed. If there are DFM questions or BOM issues, production starts after the customer confirms the required updates.
Do you offer expedited service?
Expedited service may be available for selected PCB and PCBA projects. Availability depends on material stock, production capacity, process complexity, and testing requirements.
Do you provide functional testing?
Yes. Functional testing can be arranged according to your test procedure. If a custom test fixture or test program is required, our team can review the requirements and quote separately.
Quality & Inspection
How do you ensure PCB quality?
We use engineering review, DFM checks, process control, visual inspection, AOI, electrical testing, and other inspection methods based on the project requirements. For assembly projects, X-ray inspection can be used for BGA/QFN or hidden solder joints when required.
Do you perform electrical testing?
Yes. Electrical testing is available for PCB fabrication to verify connectivity and detect shorts or opens. Testing requirements may vary depending on quantity, board type, and customer specifications.
What happens if there is a quality issue?
If you find a problem after receiving your boards or assemblies, please contact us with your order number, photos, test results, and a clear description of the issue. Our engineering and quality teams will investigate and provide a solution.
